Oh I love being a girl...

This morning Chloe and I had a spa day!
We made a homemade facial mask...
made of oatmeal (ground in our food processor), avocado, honey and a little water...

Chloe got the mask on first....

and then put it on me....
her first facial mask experience...

Smile....

She was surprised that it got hard on her face...
But our faces are SUPER smooth today...

Nice Chloe....

Smile mom...while i do the peace sign....

Then we did Chloe's nails....
from right to left....
dark red with a heart decal, bright red with two daisy decals, orange with a pink butterfly, yellow has a swirl, and plain green.
plain blue, dark purple with a daisy, light pink with another swirl, fuchsia with a butterfly, and magenta with a swirl.
And she painted her toes herself....
rusty orange and silver....

and Chloe did my nails fuchsia and on my thumbs are black swirl decals....
We watched a movie, ate popcorn and played Uno Attack, Sorry and the new Guess Who.
We ate pop rocks too...
made the bird house and work on some other random things.
At the moment we are watching Legally Blonde and relaxing.
It's been a great day, just the two of us girls.

A gift for the birds...

For Girl Scouts I am having each girl make a bird feeder out of a recycled bottle and wooden spoons to earn their petal "I will do my best to make the world a better place."
So Chloe and I decided to try it out today.
Here are the pictures of our progress...

Step one...draw an asterisk on one side of the bottle and a circle on the opposite side...

Draw another set near the top of the bottle.

Cut the lines of the asterisk and cut out the circle with a craft knife...

Next slide a wooden spoon's end into the circle hole and through the asterisk
(the asterisk will hold the spoon into place...)

Do the same thing with the second spoon...

Next...COVER THE HOLES...
and pour the bird seed into the bottle...
Tah dah....

Tie a ribbon or string....
and hang it up....

The bird seed comes out onto the spoon part and the spoon handle that comes
of the other side is now a cute little perch for the birds to relax on....

(Like chloe's pjs?)

a few loving pictures...

I was talking to Chloe back last month when Aunt Chrissy had her hip surgery
(if you are not in the loop, my aunt Chrissy had hip replacement surgery last month...and is doing great...)
and Chloe was REALLY concerned that the Drs put in the wrong size hip. So I had her draw a picture of it...(Chrissy I will be sending it back up with Cha for you to hang up at home).
This says "Crice" aka Chrissy...
Chloe took this herself...

and took this one too...she wanted to be in a picture with the picture.

Smile?
So on to the picture....

It says
"I love you. Love Chloe Nell Weaton We al love you."
(she does know how to spell her last name...guess she forgot the h).

And that is a picture of Chrissy with her new hip...drawn like she is scared it might be...too big. That pink part would be the too big hip....
A close up try #57....my camera doesn't like to focus up close these days...
That is Chrissy...with her blonde hair...green sweatsuit? and her very large hip.
Just an FYI to you all...she got a perfect hip...it's not too big or too small...it's just right!
We love you Chrissy!
While Chloe was drawing pictures she made one for me!
It says
"I love you. mom i will love you forevr.
we all love in ar famle and dad (adam) and me we al love ech othr. love chloe nell."
So to translate....
I love you mom. i will love you forever. we all love in our family and dad and me we all love each other.
Too Cute!
She made one for herself that says she loves herself and how she is. I will have to take pictures of it. She hung it on her closet. That's a good self confidence booster in the am! (:
I love my Chloe Nell!

thankful for the little things...

On a day like today when I feel like things are spinning out of control...when i feel like i could cry at any moment...when i have heard all the bad news i can take for the week...when my daughter picks at the new paint job in the bathroom and it ends up turning into chaos...when the blower motor in my car will not work and I have to drive with the window down so my windows don't get frosted...when i feel so overwhelmed by the social things in life....I have to really think and be thankful for the little things in my life today....
Like how every morning Adam kissing me goodbye before work...
-how much I love our bed when it's made...
-how bright our house gets with the curtains open...
-how silly Chloe was this morning...
-how silly Chloe can be....and Adam and i too...
-how awesome Chloe is doing with her spelling this week, i thought going from 4 letter words to 6 would be tough but she is doing AWESOME!
-the Reese's peanut butter cup i found in the cupboard...
-the fact that i have kept 5...yes 5 plants alive...and want to get more!!
-chocolate milk...need i say more?
-warm slippers, cozy sweatpants, and warm sweaters
-a warm shower with amazing rosemary mint aveda shampoo and conditioner (thanks mom!)
-my mom...sister...dad...aunts...uncles...cousins...grandparents...family that "circles the wagons" when someone is in need....
-friends near and far...
-having a great husband with a good job...
-having a great husband...
-i just have to say husband again...it's still weird to say...
-for Chloe...my joy...
-the thought of having more babies in the future...
-grilled cheese sandwiches...i like those a lot

just listing things make me feel a little better....
here are some pictures that make me happy too....
i hope they bring a smile to your day too...

this one just cracks me up!

Removable Paint Anyone?

I spent a lot of time painting Chloe's bathroom and I went in there yesterday to put some towels away and what did I see?
Chloe had PICKED the paint off of the wall right next to the toilet...

AND then I notcied that it peels RIGHT OFF...
Peels!
What the heck?

so I decided that to cut around the edges but now I don't know what to do.
How irritating...and kind of funny....

Here's the paint I peeled and CUT off the wall.
Any suggestions?

Natalie takes a moment to pose while Chloe concentrates on picking up the cookies...

The cookies out of the oven...

Tah-Dah!

The cookies looks great and Chloe chowed down the few she brought home!!
What a fun play date!
